Pointe-du-Buisson offers a multi-faceted high school educational program in accordance with the requirements of the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec.
Pointe-du-Buisson offers a secondary educational program focusing on social organization, territorial issues, global citizenship awareness and the exploration of historical social realities. Students analyze archaeological evidence, deepen their knowledge of population adaptation, and reflect on the preservation of natural and heritage environments, using Pointe-du-Buisson as an example.
The objectives
The objectives of the Pointe-du-Buisson high school program are:
- Recognize the social and territorial realities of the past;
- Identify the traces left by ancient societies to discover their meaning;
- Use the same tools and make the same gestures as an archaeologist, a specialist in researching the past;
- Manipulate objects common to the daily lives of people of the past to discover how technology evolves with societal and environmental transformations;
- Analyze artifacts and observe how they provide valuable clues to the transformation of societies and the environment;
- Develop civic awareness of protected environments.
